ELF: Hamburg Sea Devils sign former Wroclaw Panther and Div. I WR Malik Stanley

The Hamburg Sea Devils of the European League of Football have found their second American import in former division one receiver Malik Stanley. The sure-handed pass catcher was an impact player in the ELF last season for the Wroclaw Panthers, even putting up three touchdowns against the Sea Devils. Hamburg’s OC Brett Morgan on the newest Sea Devil receiver:

“Malik is a force. He’s a player that European League of Football-defenses had to build their plan around stopping, and he still wrecked people weekly. Malik has a unique combination of strength and quickness, it’s unusual to find receivers his size who are also twitched up and explosive. You feel his explosiveness once he has the ball, he’s a physical and violent runner with a mindset to punish people. Having Malik as a centerpiece helps create opportunities for our other offensive skill players as well, and I’m excited to see our whole offense benefit with his presence.”

The 6’2″, 220-pound receiver was one of the ELF’s top receivers in 2022, playing for the Wroclaw Panthers. Stanley finished third in the league with 1,099 receiving yards, second in the league in catches with 87, and fourth in receiving touchdowns with 12.

Stanley, a native of Tecumseh, Kansas, spent 2021 playing indoor football for the Tucson Sugar Skulls catching nine passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. He began his college career with one season at Coffeyville Community College, before transferring to the University of South Alabama for two years.

During his junior season at South Alabama, Stanley totaled 27 receptions for 324 yards and three touchdowns. He then finished his college career with one season at Louisiana Tech. Stanley saw time in all 13 games, posting a team-high 649 yards on 40 catches and three touchdowns.

Prior to coming to the ELF in 2022, Stanley was working at part of the HUB camp with current league players Zach Edwards, Collin Hill, Jean Constant, and the coach of the Helvetic Guards, Norm Chow

Stanley looks to be the number one pass catcher in Hamburg joining recently signed D2 All-American quarterback Preston Haire. The Sea Devils have already signed other weapons to support the two in running back Simon Homandi and Lucas Harting Candido, along with receivers Jean-Claude Madin Cerezo, Lukas Rehder, and Finn Appelt.
