Switzerland’s Geneva Seahawks Sign French National Team Running Back Stephen Yepmo

It would seem that Larry Legault’s signing as head coach and director of football operations for the Geneva Seahawks is already starting to pay dividends as the club has announced  the signing of French national team running back Stephen Yepmo for the 2016 season. With the move, the Seahawks are making it clear that they are serious about making the jump up from the second division to the top league in Switzerland.

Yepmo has been one of the French league’s leading rushers in recent years and winner of numerous awards. He was also the featured back on France’s national team. Naturally his coach on both squads was Legault with whom Yepmo enjoyed his greatest success.

Yepmo played for the Thonon-les-Bains Black Panthers in both 2013 and 2014 winning back to back French championships and helped the team reach the French final again in 2015. He was also a key figure in helping  France to a third place finish at the 2014 European Championships.

This past summer, Yepmo starred for France in the IFAF World Championships where France finished fourth behind the United States, Japan and Mexico.
