IFAF joins forces with WADA to celebrate Play True Day

Since 2014, in April of every year, the anti-doping community worldwide comes together to celebrate Play True Day – a day that is dedicated to Clean Sport and raising awareness among athletes, the sporting public and others of the importance of preventing doping.

This Friday, April 19, IFAF will join the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in encouraging all its members around the world to join the Play True Day 2024 #OnePlayTrueTeam campaign.

Everyone may download Play True Day 2024 images and frames here and share them on social media channels on April 19 with the #PlayTrueDay and #OnePlayTrueTeam hashtags.

While Play True Day started as a small Latin American initiative, WADA’s digital campaign now reaches millions of people each year, with numerous individuals and organizations taking part from around the globe. Athletes, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, Sports Federations, Governments, Major Event Organizers and other anti-doping stakeholders from around the world are participating.

“WADA is doubly proud this year to be celebrating its 25th anniversary, said WADA President Witold Bańka. “Born out of an urgency to tackle the doping problem in sport, the agency’s creation in 1999 activated the global collaborative movement for doping-free sport.

“Since then, athletes worldwide have benefited from the commitment of the global anti-doping community – past and present. The development of the global anti-doping system has been and will always be a true team effort. We have come a long way together, and we must go further in raising the game for athletes worldwide, so please join us on this Play True Day to celebrate 25 years as One Play True Team.”
