Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Commanders to host three London Games in NFL’s 2026 International Blitz
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Commanders will play a central role in the NFL’s 2026 global schedule, with the league announcing that the two teams will host a combined three regular-season games in London. The Jaguars are set to make history by becoming the first team to host two overseas home games in the same season, both taking place in the British capital.
Jaguars double down in London
Jacksonville will host back-to-back games at two of London’s most iconic venues: Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This unprecedented move comes as the Jaguars face temporary displacement due to major stadium renovations in Jacksonville, which will reduce capacity at home in 2026 before a near-full relocation of home games to Orlando in 2027. The team has deep ties to the UK, having played an NFL-leading 14 games in London since 2013. Head coach Liam Coen emphasized that “London is undoubtedly our home away from home,” pointing to the strong and growing fanbase the organization has built there. The Jaguars have found recent success abroad, sweeping games in 2023 against Atlanta and Buffalo.
Commanders rejoin the international stage
The Washington Commanders will host one game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking their third international appearance. The franchise previously played in London in 2016, tying the Cincinnati Bengals 27–27, and more recently competed in the NFL’s inaugural game in Madrid, where they fell in overtime to the Miami Dolphins. This game continues the league’s effort to broaden the Commanders’ global profile as part of the NFL’s International Home Marketing Area program.
Big picture: NFL’s global game plan
These three contests are part of a record-setting nine international games in 2026, spanning four continents and seven countries. Other marquee matchups include the San Francisco 49ers playing in Australia and Mexico, the Detroit Lions hosting in Germany, the New Orleans Saints in France, and the Dallas Cowboys leading the league’s debut in Brazil. An additional game in Spain has yet to have its host assigned. Specific dates and opponents for the London games will be announced when the full 2026 schedule is released next spring.
This expansion reinforces the NFL’s strategy to grow the game beyond American borders, offering fans worldwide more opportunities to experience live regular-season football while providing teams like the Jaguars and Commanders with new platforms to engage international audiences.
