The Firenze Guelfi, runners up in the Italian Football League in 2023 will host Serbia’s Vukovi Beograd Saturday, April 20 as the Central European Football League tournament kicks off the 2024 season.

Both teams lost in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 tournament. Firenze lost to the Thonon Black Panthers from France while Vukovi were beaten 28-10 by the Italian title holders, the Parma Panthers.

The Guelfi are currently 4-1 in the Italian league with their only loss coming at the hands of the league leading Varese Scorpions. Homegrown signal caller Andrea Fimiani will have an import receiver, Ryan Deluca to target.

Belgrade sit second in the Serbian league with a 3-1 record. They dropped a 21-10 decision to the Kragujevac Wild Boars. This is Vukovi’s record 15th season in the CEFL and they have won the title six times.

Vukovi have brought back their 2022 quarterback, Ryan Barabe, to lead to team again with Devion Young starting at running back.
