LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Dresden Monarchs @ Munich Cowboys, July 25, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)

The Munich Cowboys (5-2) face their toughest assignment of the season Saturday when they welcome the unbeaten Dresden Monarchs (7-0) to Munich for a major German Football League matchup. The Cowboys enter the weekend sitting second in the GFL South, while the Monarchs are looking to protect first place in the North and continue their perfect start.

Cowboys lean on explosive passing game

The Cowboys returned from the summer break with an impressive road victory in Saarland, showing they are ready to build on last season’s run to the playoff semifinals.

Quarterback Nicholas Semptimphelter has been the engine of the offense, completing 68 percent of his 257 pass attempts for 2,246 yards and 24 touchdowns. His leading target, Gabriel Boccella, has developed into one of the league’s most dangerous offensive players.

Boccella enters the matchup with 54 receptions for 910 yards and 16 touchdowns, giving him a league-leading 96 points. The connection between Semptimphelter and Boccella will be central to Munich’s chances of handing Dresden its first loss.

The Cowboys will need to stay patient, protect the football and make the most of every opportunity against a defense that has given up very little all season.

Monarchs bring balance on both sides

The Monarchs return from their four-week summer break with one of the deepest rosters in the GFL. Quarterback Rocky Lombardi, who spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2024, leads an offense that also features receiver Montigo Moss, a participant in the Minnesota Vikings’ 2025 rookie minicamp.

Dresden’s defense has been equally impressive, allowing only 95 points through seven games. That unit will be tested by a Munich offense built around one of the league’s most productive quarterback-receiver combinations.

The Monarchs have not won in the Bavarian capital since before their last visit there in 2008, when the Cowboys earned a 30-3 victory.

Mistakes could decide it

For Munich, slowing Lombardi and avoiding turnovers will be essential. For Dresden, limiting Boccella’s opportunities and disrupting Semptimphelter’s rhythm could determine the outcome.

The Monarchs arrive as the unbeaten favorites, but the Cowboys have the offensive firepower and home-field advantage to make this one of the weekend’s most compelling games.
