Canada’s University of British Columbia Thunderbird football team is taking a historic trip to Monterrey, Mexico to face the ITESM Borregos of Monterrey Friday, May 2.

Monterrey, winners of the CONADEIP (top college league in Mexico) championship in 2017 and runners up in 2018, are hosting a Canadian team for the first time in their history.

The Thunderbirds finished the 2018 season with a 5-3 record but will be playing without many of their players from the last season including quarterback Michael O’Connor who will be in Seattle Seahawks minicamp.
