NFL’s global streaming deal with DAZN a billion dollar affair?

When the NFL and DAZN signed a 10 year partnership agreement whereby DAZN would stream NFL Game Pass International worldwide starting next season no dollar amount was given but according to Forbes magazine the deal is worth roughly $1 billion, or $100 million per season.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the deal earlier in the week but the value of the deal was left out.

DAZN has distributed NFL Game Pass in Canada since 2017 and has been the league’s broadcast partner in Germany and Japan since 2016 as well as Italy since 2018. In a press release, DAZN stated that fans outside the USA will be able to watch every NFL matchup throughout the regular season and postseason, including the world’s largest annual sporting event, the Super Bowl. DAZN is available on devices including smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and game consoles.

“NFL Game Pass International will be available through the DAZN app either as a stand-alone subscription or an add-on to an existing DAZN package to customers worldwide, excluding China,” according to the press release.

Game Pass International also will deliver NFL Network and NFL RedZone programming as well as access to a library of NFL Films and NFL Media programming. Everything will be available on demand.
