Örebro Black Knights Sign QB Joe Clancy to Finish Out 2014

Former Merrimack College quarterback Joe Clancy has signed with the Örebro Black Knights for the remainder of the season. The Black Knights are a Swedish-based team playing in the IFAF Champions League, as well as the Swedish Super Series.

They play in the 15,000-seat Behrn Arena, an outdoor stadium.

Andrew Shoop, a quarterback who graduated from Lafayette in 2013, was the Black Knights’ starter before an injury ended his season.

Clancy went undrafted this past May in the NFL and also went unsigned as a free agent, despite many scouts having him ranked as a top-50 player at the position. NFLDraftScout had Clancy rated as the 46th-best player at the position out of 103 eligible for the draft.

Orebro’s regular season ends on August 21.
