Storm Warning: Clark, Beaulieu lead Nordic Storm past Prague Lions, 47–13

Nordic Storm wasted no time turning its home European Football Alliance matchup with the Prague Lions into a statement performance, riding a precision passing display from quarterback Jadrian Clark and a multi-touchdown afternoon from Brendan Beaulieu to a convincing 47–13 win.

First Quarter Action

Prague won the coin toss and deferred, but that only gave Nordic the first chance to set the tone. Simon Kobberø Føns opened the game with a 40-yard kickoff return, and Clark immediately went to work. He completed passes to Brendan Beaulieu, Føns, and Roberto Atlas De Amorim Miranda before finding Beaulieu for a 13-yard touchdown and a 7–0 lead.

Under head coach John Shoop and offensive coordinator Stephen McCusker, Nordic’s attack looked settled from the first series. Clark spread the ball around, Glen Steve Mbeleg-Toonga kept the chains moving on the ground, and Beaulieu quickly became the matchup Prague could not solve. Nordic doubled the lead midway through the first quarter on a 22-yard scoring pass, with Alvin Mats Karl Gustafsson adding his second extra point for a 14–0 advantage.

Prague’s Response

Prague, led by head coach and defensive coordinator James Brooks, had moments of resistance. The Lions forced a fourth-down incompletion near the goal line early in the second quarter and later put together their best drive of the half. But Nordic’s defense, coordinated by Mark DeLeone, consistently put quarterback Jaylon Henderson under pressure and made Prague work for every yard.

The Storm stretched the lead in the second quarter when Mbeleg-Toonga finished an efficient drive with an eight-yard touchdown run. After the defense forced another Prague punt, Clark hit Edvin Alberto Almeida Taborda for 48 yards to flip the field, then found Lucas Lohmann Mortensen from six yards out to make it 28–0.

Prague Finds the End Zone

Prague answered before halftime with its sharpest sequence of the day. Ken Hike Jr.’s 51-yard kickoff return gave the Lions life, and offensive coordinator Fred Armstrong’s unit responded with runs from Adam Žouželka and completions to Radim Kalous, Matyáš Bílý, and William Patterson. Henderson capped the drive himself, scoring from two yards out with 18 seconds left in the half. Marek Hruboň’s extra point cut the deficit to 28–7.

Second Half Dominance

Any hope of a second-half comeback disappeared quickly. Henderson moved Prague across midfield to open the third quarter, but Mitchel Fettig intercepted him and returned the ball 35 yards. Nordic immediately turned the takeaway into points, with Clark hitting Beaulieu for an 18-yard touchdown and a 34–7 lead after the missed extra point.

Mbeleg-Toonga added a 19-yard touchdown run later in the third quarter, and Clark closed Nordic’s scoring burst with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Beaulieu in the final minute of the period. By then, the Storm led 47–7.

Final Touchdowns

Clark finished with a dominant stat line: 26 completions on 33 attempts for 390 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions. Beaulieu was his main weapon, catching nine passes for 131 yards and four scores. Mbeleg-Toonga added 105 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, while also contributing as a receiver. Taborda delivered two explosive receptions for 114 yards.

For Prague, Henderson was under pressure throughout but accounted for both Lions touchdowns on the ground. He completed 11 of 21 passes for 105 yards and added 51 rushing yards and two scores. Patterson caught five passes for 74 yards, while Žouželka and Pavel Prokop helped Prague’s run game find some late rhythm.

The Lions added a final touchdown in the fourth quarter after a defensive stop and a short field. Prokop carried the load on the drive before Henderson scored from 11 yards out. The extra point was missed, leaving the final margin at 47–13.

Game Summary

For Nordic Storm, it was a complete win: Shoop’s team was explosive on offense, disciplined enough to control the game early, and opportunistic on defense. For Prague, Brooks and Armstrong will take positives from Henderson’s toughness, Hike’s return game, and a few sustained drives, but the Lions were ultimately undone by Nordic’s early avalanche and Clark’s near-flawless performance.
