UFL: Ta’amu claims second straight weekly honor, Fields and Johnson recognized

Jordan Ta’amu of the DC Defenders has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after another standout performance, leading his team to a fourth straight victory in defeating the Birmingham Stallions 45-28. He was joined by Tony Fields II (Aviators) and Quindell Johnson (Kings), who also had impressive showings in Week Four.

Jordan Ta’amu shines again
Ta’amu was instrumental in the Defenders’ success, guiding them to their third game of the season with over 40 points. He delivered his best performance as a passer, throwing for 275 yards and four touchdowns, while achieving an impressive 150.6 quarterback rating. Ta’amu also contributed on the ground, rushing for 33 yards, including a highlight-reel hurdle over a defender. His dynamic play continues to power one of the league’s hottest teams as they prepare to host the Dallas Renegades this weekend.

Defensive and special teams standouts
Tony Fields II of the Columbus Aviators was named NOBULL Defensive Player of the Week after posting a season-high 13 total tackles against the Houston Hawks. Fields II’s relentless effort helped keep the Aviators competitive, as he recorded seven solo tackles and now averages eight tackles per game, tying for the league lead with 40 total tackles.

Quindell Johnson of the Louisville Kings earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his significant contributions in the Kings’ upset victory. Johnson recorded four special teams tackles, showcasing his versatility and impact on the game. The Kings are gearing up for the Derby Classic, looking to build on their recent success.
