Ferrara Aquile beat Milano Rhinos 19-10 to clinch Italian Football League playoff spot

In Italian Football League action, the Ferrara Aquile walked into the Vigorelli needing a win and left with their playoff ticket punched, grinding past the Milano Rhinos 19-10 while improving to 3-5 and dropping the hosts to 0-8.

Ferrara changes its approach

The Aquile came into the game with a very different offensive look, moving away from the wide-open passing style they had used earlier in the season. Instead, Ferrara leaned into a tighter, more physical double-wing attack designed to control the ball, drain the clock, and keep the Rhinos offense off the field.

That approach worked. The Aquile played a patient, grinding game and found enough big moments to get the result they needed.

Wright gives Aquile early lead

The first touchdown came in the opening quarter when Ryan Kraft sold the run and found Zack Wright in the end zone. The conversion missed wide right, but Ferrara had a 6-0 lead and an early sign that its physical setup could still create chances through the air.

Milano answered in the second quarter. Zanga hit a 30-yard field goal, and Cotton later powered into the end zone. Zanga’s conversion gave the Rhinos a 10-6 halftime lead.

Aquile take over after halftime

The second half belonged to Ferrara. Kraft again connected with Wright in the third quarter, giving the Aquile a 12-10 lead after the conversion run failed.

From there, the Ferrara defense took control. The Rhinos were shut out over the final two quarters, while the Aquile added the decisive score when Wright ran into the end zone. The successful conversion made it 19-10.

Defense seals playoff berth

Wright finished with three touchdowns, two receiving and one rushing, while Kraft’s inside runs helped wear down the Milano defense. The Aquile closed with 13 unanswered points and left Vigorelli with a playoff spot secured.
