In the final game of Round 3 in the Danish National League’s shortened 2020 season the AaB 89ers (1-1) from Aalborg will play host to the Triangle Razorbacks (1-1).

The Razorbacks dropped a close game to the Copenhagen Towers 14-7 last week and had chances to win the game so they will be looking for revenge. The Razorbacks had opened the season with a 41-6 shellacking of the Aarhus Tigers. AaB started the year badly getting whipped by the Søllerød Gold Diggers 82-12 but rebounded by downing the Tigers 56-12.

These two teams faced each other twice in 2019 splitting the series in two close but high scoring games. The Razorbacks won the first game 46-42 but Aalborg took the second 62-58.

AaB quarterback Alexander Kronborg has completed 22 of 50 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns in two games and looked much sharper in the win over Aarhus. With running back Breon Allen looking better (205 yards/3 TDs against Aarhus), the pressure on Kronborg eases and with targets like Frederik Myrup Nielsen and Rashad Greene to throw to, Kronborg and the 89ers offense could be dangerous.

Triangle’s offense led by quarterback Reed Gottula has proved it can score. Although he has only thrown for a total of 132 yards in the two games, he has managed the games and with a rushing attack anchored by Adrian Jimenez he will not have to do much more. Jimenez has 240 yards rushing so far in roughly five and a half quarters of play (he was hurt early in second half of first game and ejected in fourth quarter of second) and has proven he is a force. Gottula’s other weapons include wide receiver Kasper Eriksen who scored the lone touchdown against the Towers, as well as the always dangerous Niko Lester who can score on offense and defense, and Jacob Callesen and Alessandro Mella.
