LIVESTREAM: Germany – Allgäu Comets @Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, Sat. Sept. 7, 5p CEDT (11a EDT)

The 5-8 Allgäu Comets play their final game of the German Football League season on the road against the 13-0 Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns.

The Comets were embarrassed on the home field last week 71-26 by the Unicorns and today’s game might not be much better. With no playoffs to look forward to, Allgäu will no doubt be evaluating players for next year.

Schwäbisch Hall jumped out to a 36-0 lead early in the second quarter of last week’s game against a listless Comets team, and starting quarterback Jadrian Clark, who had completed 9 of 10 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown, rested giving way to James Slack who finished the game for the Unicorns, throwing for 110 yards and three touchdowns.

Young Kevin Scheffler started at quarterback for the Comets but managed just 12 yards passing before defensive back Danny Wynne stepped in and engineered three touchdowns late in the game. The quarterbacking woes that have plagued the team all season have not let up. In other words, this is an Allgäu team hurting and in disarray.

Schwäbisch Hall will be looking to keep their unbeaten streak intact. It has now reached 47 games and stretches back to October 8, 2016 when they lost to the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions in the German Bowl.
