The Czech Republic will play host to Team Switzerland Sunday, August 6 in Masarykova, Ústí and Labem in a key qualification matchup as the International Federation of American Football European Championships wind up their weekend of play,

The winner of this game will finish in ninth place while the loser drops to 11th.

The Czechs finished last in Group C after losing 42-10 to Finland and then dropping a 45-40 decision to Denmark. Switzerland were 31-6 losers to Sweden and then fell 24-13 to Serbia.

The Czechs have assembled a formidable roster of players including 14 from the Prague Black Panthers, semifinalists in the Austrian Football League this season. They have also added eight members of the ELF Prague Lions and four players from the Dresden Monarchs in the German Football League.

For Switzerland, quarterbacks Nicolas Leibundgut (Thun Tigers), Iloyd Allotey (Zurich Renegades) and Romain Beda (Fribourg Cardinals) will try to kick start an offense that only managed to score 19 points in two games.

Defensively, the Swiss will need to be wary of a Czech squad that can explode for points as they proved in their 45-40 loss to Denmark.
